Northeast Wyoming is a snowmobiling destination. Fifty-miles of groomed trails are within easy access of the Newcastle community.

Fifty-miles of groomed trails exist in the area between Newcastle and the Interstate-90 corridor! Whether you’re coming to snowmobile or cross-country ski, northeast Wyoming is your go-to place for winter recreation.

We recommend doing a little on-line research with the U.S. Forest Service, combined with a visit to their local office for more information and maps. Trail information is also offered by the State of Wyoming.

Snowmobile season typically starts around Dec. 15, but is weather dependent. You can bring your own snowmobile or rent from local entities like Trailshead Lodge. Information, including maps, can also be picked up at Buckhorn, Wyoming, located very near the Wyoming and South Dakota state line between Newcastle and Lead/Deadwood. Expect snow depths from one to four feet.
